That Good Old Feeling for Mondays…


I Love Mondays

Why do some people {alot really!} dislike Mondays? For me Monday means starting over, new possibilities, enhancing what I started last week, discarding things I did not like last week.  The possibilities are simply endless.  Make Monday your friend. On Sunday night take stock of where you are in your life and what you’d like to accomplish in the upcoming week; then take small steps to move towards making each item your reality. Here are a few tips to make the approaching new week more fun.


  1.  Buy flowers on Sunday, so you have beautiful blooms to look at on Monday, If you did not buy flowers on Sunday, make it a point to buy a bunch on Monday!
  2. Go to your local farmers market and buy some in-season veggies, you’ll feel happy that you’re going to finally keep that promise to eat better this week!
  3. Make Sunday “Self Care” day or evening – a bubble bath, with a glass of bubbly  or some soothing ginger tea {see recipe below} if you’re so inclined, add a chic lit novel {leave your self-help books for during the week} If you don’t own any chic lit novels, buy one just for bath time, believe me, you’ll have fun! One of my favs anything from the “Shopaholic” series by Sophie Kinsella
  4. Play some old school music while getting your outfit(s) or the kid’s outfits ready for the new week, dance around the house while pretending to be 90’s Janet Jackson.
  5. Make a list of 2 things you’d like to accomplish in the new week. I’m moving away from making never-ending “To Do” lists, I’ve  learned that if I make a list of no more than 3-4 things I tend to accomplish a lot more. If you have more than 2 things to accomplish, break them up by day.
  6. If you must read a serious book, read the 4 Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz you can never read that book enough times.
  7. Thank God you’re alive to see a new week!

Relaxing Ginger Tea




yield 2 cups of tea


  • 2 teaspoons finely grated fresh ginger
  • 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
